AlNiCo magnet are a type of metal alloy, which is derived from Aluminum, Nickel, Cobalt, Iron and a few other elements, such as: Copper, Titanium and Sulfur etc. AlNiCo magnets have excellent temperature stability and good resistance to demagnetization from vibration and shock, their maximum operating temperature is up to 550 . And these magnets are very hard and brittle. They also have strong corrosion resistance capability, no coating needed for surface protection.

Because of their high flux density and superior temperature stability, AlNiCo magnets have been accepted in the widest range of application, such as: speaker, telephone, mobile, microwave device, electronic meter, water meter, electronic motor, switch, sensors, aviation, spaceflight, etc.

There are two different manufacturing processes for Alnico magnets: Casting process and Sintering process. Both processes lead them selves to complex geometries and configurations.

Cast AlNiCo Magnet is one type of AlNiCo magnets. It is manufactured by pouring a molten metal alloy into a mold and then further processing it through various heat-treat cycles. The resulting magnet has a dark gray exterior appearance, and may have a rough surface. Machined surfaces have a shiny appearance similar to steel.

Cast AlNiCo magnets have excellent direction of orientation due to their unique crystalline grain orientation. They are designed to produce high magnetic output in a specified direction.  

 Cast AlNiCo 5 is the most popularly used among all the cast AlNiCo magnets. It is used widely in rotation machinery, communications, meters and instruments, sensing devices and holding applications. The higher resistance to demagnetization (coercive force) of Alnico 8,Cobalt content to 35%, allows this material to function well for short lengths or for length to diameter ratios of less than 2 to 1.
