The PTV Group, which supplies software for mapping, routing, geocoding and optimisation, will be launching its logistics software products for the first time in Melbourne at the Advanced Logistics & Materials Handling conference, 19 – 21 March.

A member of the PTV Group, PTV Asia Pacific has been providing transport planning software to the Australian traffic and transport market for more than seven years.

“The introduction of PTV’s logistics product suite in Australia comes at a time of increased demand for more efficient solutions in the transport and logistics industry,” said Joost Bekker, business development director logistics software at PTV Asia Pacific.

“Our software components for routing, mapping, geocoding and optimisation will enable the industry to improve efficiency and to reach higher service levels at lower costs.

“At the same time our technology for emission calculation, which is part of our routing and optimisation solutions, will help the industry to calculate the carbon impact on trip and drop level. The early adopters will be well positioned to remain competitive.”

Among the software products on display in Melbourne will be the PTV xServers. Ranging from geocoding to displaying data on digital maps through to trip planning and optimisation, PTV xServers provide geographical and logistics functions that can be integrated into client-server architectures.

As the software components are modular by design, customers only have to license the modules they require. All of the software components work with current PTV map materials, which are regularly updated. Numerous code samples that come with the software are also available on the internet, enabling developers to achieve results quickly and easily.
