Taiwan's China Steel Corp. (CSC) is going to release its January galvanized steel coil leeway allocation this week.
Due to CSC’s price hike of NT$500/ton and some shortage sizes in the market, it is said that the reselling prices of CSC's GI leeway might increase by NT$1,500/ton to NT$18,800 ~NT$21,800/ton.
Also, it’s expected that the reselling prices will be accepted as it is still NT$1,000/ton lower than the prices of prime quality products in the market.
It is said the thickness from 0.6 mm to 1.2 mm GI flats have faced the shortage situation in local market, especially the 0.6 mm coils.
Also, the high prices of import offers are unfavorable to the Taiwanese buyers.
Affected by these factors, Taiwan's local GI distributors expected the GI market price should be able to stay high in short term.
